3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml brown bottle. Dark golden-amber in colour, some haze. Creamy tan head with a rocky top and spotty lace. Nose has caramel malt, hint of chocolate malt, light yeast. Taste is malty up front with earth, light roast, choclate and grain, a very pleasant grassy hop flavour shows up late. Bitterness is mild but provides a nice balance. Aftertaste is grassy with some grain, light yeast. Medium body, pretty soft carbonation. Pleasantly surprised with this. One of the better Ankerbrau offerings I’ve encountered. Far superior to their Reiser Landbier. This bottle was $3.25, pretty good value here, I would drink this again.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very hazy, murky brown pour, with a large rocky off white almost brown head. Aroma of deep malted grains, lots of sugar, some dried hay notes, and some light wood. Carb is low, mouth feel is a little muddy. Finish is malty, nice cereals, the hay notes fade and turn into some light dried grass. Low bitterness, muddled finish.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle poured into a pint glass. Slightly hazy amber with a nice long lasting creamy head and good lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, honey and light earthy notes. Moderate sweet with caramel and malts, low bitterness, light sour notes. A bit darker and malty than expected. Not bad, quite drinkable though nothing extraordinary.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle. Clear copper color. Small size, white head, stays. Oranges, malty, milky notes in aroma. Smells weird. Caramel, malty, chocolate, milky, faint hops in taste. That milkyness in disturbing. Sweet and mild bitter aftertaste. Medium sweet body.

500ml bottle (Riga Beer Festival 2014)
Slightly sicky off milk aroma, maybe some cheese or feet. Rich red, small beige head. This is a dunkel, definitely not a Z/K/L. Sweet malty body, not as nasty as the aroma. Finish sweet and caramelly, some milkiness. Simple dark lager.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Small head, but long lacing. Bonus for color, dark amber. ALmost no smell. Bit of dark malt, but in distance. No hops or hop aroma, so no bitterness. Besides that very drinkable and if you dont have high hopes will satify you!

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Murky dark amber color with a decent head. Aroma fairly rotten and unappealing. Taste of caramel and oxidation, with notes of wet cardboard and wood. Not very good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rating from 2009.
