3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pintbypint (2000) - Edmonton, Alberta, - AUG 24, 2012500ml brown bottle. Dark golden-amber in colour, some haze. Creamy tan head with a rocky top and spotty lace. Nose has caramel malt, hint of chocolate malt, light yeast. Taste is malty up front with earth, light roast, choclate and grain, a very pleasant grassy hop flavour shows up late. Bitterness is mild but provides a nice balance. Aftertaste is grassy with some grain, light yeast. Medium body, pretty soft carbonation. Pleasantly surprised with this. One of the better Ankerbrau offerings I’ve encountered. Far superior to their Reiser Landbier. This bottle was $3.25, pretty good value here, I would drink this again.

Bottle. Medium-to-dark amber brown, with a fair amount of particulate sediment at the end of the pour. Toasty and bready, with a pleasant caramelized sugar sweetness and homey yeastiness. I was really surprised with this beer, in a good way!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Maria (9631) - Thisted, DENMARK - SEP 30, 2012
It’s dark amber with a creamy, golden head. The aroma has notes of caramel and fruit. The flavor has a moderate sweetness and lovely well balanced notes of malt, caramel, fruit & citrus, and the finish is dry.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 patricks110 (1259) - Alberta, CANADA - AUG 13, 2012
Really like this one. Kellerbier tend to be great beers for me. this one pours really dark with an amber tinge throughout and an inch of fluffy beige head. The nose has a beautiful floral yeast and citrus hop and a mild rich roasted malt. The flavor is lightly sweet with beautiful caramel and toffeed malt notes. An overall mild flavor, but a nice little session brew.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cole (967) - , Alberta, CANADA - AUG 7, 2012
Pours brown with a thick white head. Very malty aroma with some grassy notes. Rich and malty, I get a hint of cocoa and very delicate hops. A fine beer no doubt. Yet, not so good I’m going to rush out and tell all my friends.

Bottled. Close to copper colour with a mediumsized beige thick head. Aroma is malts, some slight yeast, earth cellar and mild diacetyl. Flavour is quite strong on the diacetyl, has some slight toasted malty and earthy notes. Also some strange sweetness as well as some yeasty notes.

500ml bottle pours amber in color with a 2 and a half finger white head that settles to leave some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is light chocolate and caramel with some grass. Taste is light malty sweetness with a grassy hop bitterness that lingers a while. Light to medium body with light carbonation. A decent tasting German brew but nothing really special.
