COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Glouglouburp (5929) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 17, 2013
In short: A yeasty blonde ale with grassy-flowery hops. Decent beer.
How: From a bottle at Montreal Mondial 2013.
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by an enormous white head, not a true gusher but it took a very loooonnnnng time to pour, it was just foam.
In long: After an eternity, multiple fall-foam pours each creating a little bit of beer… Nose is hop-forward in an unusual way, it has dry grass, sundried countryside flowers, vanilla ice-cream, watermelons, bubblegum. Body had a foamy texture with a lots of big bubbles, an overall sponge-like mouthfeel. Taste proposes an elusive body, a fluffy yeasty mixture, some fresh bakery bread, a light honey presence, leading to a hoppy finish that is very scented/flowery and somewhat grassy. Too much of an overall perfume sensation but enjoyable nonetheless. Currently classified on ratebeer as an IPA, this is certainly not your usual IPA by ratebeer standards, more like a Belgian blonde ale that is more hoppy than usual. After drinking so many beers at the Mondial beer festival I had a strange dream, I dreamt it was raining beer outside, and in my dream I stayed inside to stay warm and dry, and now I’m questioning everything I thought I knew about myself.

Boa Belgium IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home from Terre de Boissons Calais. Aroma is earthy and yeasty some hay and lemon. Hazed orange pour with a gtreyish thin white head. Flavour is some earthy hay and lemon. Some alcohol bite in the finish, but it hides the 8% well. Medium full body. Medium yeast and lemon duration. Decent French beer who would have thought?

33cl Bottle from erickok, thanks Eric! Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of cat piss, candy, sharp alcohol, grapes. Flavour is of grapes, some hot alcohol, light hoppy, soft candy sweetness, light fruity, some green banana, bitter hoppy and alcoholic finish. Light to medium-bodied, soft mouthfeel. Reminded me a bit of Duvel Tripel Hop 2012, but a lesser version. Nice BSA with extra hop, nowhere near an IPA.

33cl bottle from a shop in Poperinge. A refreshing blonde with bucketfuls of spiced fruits, apricot, peach and a flowery fragrance. Half way through I left it for 5 minutes while watching telly and when I took a sip I got a big mouthful of bubblegum. Not sure on the IPA classification but this is a great beer nonetheless.

On tap at the bar of Terre de Boissons, Coquelles, France. A hazy golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, fruity, malty aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, fruity, yeasty, malty, slightly sweet. Wouldn’t call this an IPA but it was pleasant.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweet fruity malt with bananas, curacao and coriander. In mouth, a sweet perfumey malt with loads of coriander, alcohol warmth, orange pulp, nice.
