19.11.13 Bottled 330ml Saveur. Deep ruby color, small brown head, some lace. Nose has sweet licorice, perhaps a bit milky too. Medium-bodied. Licorice dominates first, then in the aftertaste tobacco, tar and ash. At least it is interesting, but too tobacco ashy for my liking.

0,33 l bottle. Pours dark, almost black with a nice head with brown notes. Also leaves nice lacings on the glass. Aroma has caramel, a bit of alcohol, sour candy. Taste is thick tar, liquorice caramel, a bit of sweet smokiness. Aftertaste is long and smokey bitter.

Overall: That was a treat. I really enjoyed drinking this beer. I really appreciate that this style was made in the region a well made beer that I really enjoyed,
Appearance: very deep brown, amazing head with lacing. very inviting.
Aroma: Chocolate, caramel, vanilla, alcohol,
taste: slightly bitter, but enjoyable. slightly sweet.
palate: medium texture, full flavor, great, strong finish.

Bottle from La Fine Mousse. Black with a rich, light brown head. Potent roasted coffee nose with hints of sweetness. Roasted coffee and caramel providing nice bitter-sweet balance. Very good.

33cl Bottle from erickok, thanks Eric! Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, liquorice, earth, some ash, light berry-tartness. Flavour is similar with lots of liquorice and earthy notes, hard roasted bitter finish, sticky mouthfeel. Medium-bodied. Nice stout.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons, Calais. Black beer with lasting tan head. Bit of tar and choc on the aroma. It’s ok, bit too tarry for me, some liquorice. It’s got a bit of newspaper to it. Not great.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons, Coquelles, France. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, dark fruit aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, some caramel, dark fruit, slight chocolate bitterness, slightly sour.

A dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, smooth herbal chocolate with licorice notes, grassy notes, nice. In mouth, a sweet dark fruit with coffee and molasses, herbal hops, some astringence.
