A beautiful mild brewed for the midlands - perhaps the new home of the mild style beer.
NOTE: In 1961 Ansells merged with Tetley and Ind Coope to form Allied Breweries. Ansells brewery closed in 1981 and production initially moved to Burton, then to Leeds. The brand is currently under the ownership of Carlsberg and is believed to be brewed at J W Lees.

Cask: Clear brown with a tan head. Not really much aroma there, just some mild malts. Bland malty flavour, lacks any depth. Drinkable.

Cask Conditioned at The Anchor, Bimingham. Deep brown with little head. This was the big mild in the Midlands, numero uno, sadly its another hostage to Macro Brewers. There is still a nuttiness that was its main characteristic with a fruity sweet base, but the flavour is so forced and boiled out now.
