Bottle - dark chestnut brown with a light brown head. Good retention, good lacing. Aroma of smoked bacon and likewise, a taste of smoke and bacon with roasted malts. Light bitterness to end. Medium body, low carbonation.

From cask. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted smooth dark malty. Chocolate. Smooth roasted, smoked and caramelish to chocolate malty. Sweet and nicely smoked and toasted finish.

Bottle from Craft Beer Co Brixton. Brown with lasting tan head and lace. Very smokey aroma with caramel brown sugar and fresh grassy hops. Smoky burnt caramel mild roasted nuts minimal fruit roasted woody bitter dry finish. Medium light quaffable body lively carbo. Wicked excellent. Brewed exactly for someone with my taste buds. I could drink this all day and night.

Bottle from the brewery, clear dark red-brown with a thinning beige head, smoked toffee and plum on the nose, palate is smoky treacle, dry plums, hints of red wine, spice and cocoa. Nice.

Bottle from Theatre of Wine, Greenwich. Cloudy brown pour with a beige head. Smoke, burnt wood, caramel and toffee aroma. Flavours of raisin, smoke and burnt wood. Dry finish. Quite nice.

Bottle at home from Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 3rd November 2014. Russet-brown with yellowy white, spot-lacing foam. Nutty, roasty malts in aroma with a hint of citrus. Smokiness and maltin-mouth with pungent earthiness and nuttines. Developing spicy, bitter finish. Zingy mouthfeel and light body. A pleasant, balanced smoked brown ale.

Backlog rating. 33cl bottle from the brewery tap room, London. It pours a dark brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma is burnt wood, charcoal, toffee, dried fruit. Taste is roasty, earthy with notes of ashes, campfire, bacon, roasted coffee beans, molasses. Finishes smoky and dry. Overall, good fun
