600ml brown twist-off bottle in Rio’s Boteca da Garrafa. Clear pale straw color with fine bubbles and no head. Light body, well-carbonated, slight crispiness but no meaningful flavor. Bland but clean. OKAY with their tomato-less pizza or roast beef sandwiches.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2014 600cl bottles a gogo in a bar at SP. Contains antioxidants and stabilizers. Appears light yellow with a moderately sustained white head. Light aroma of malts with a heavier presence of grains and adjucts (corn, other unmalted cereals), this is an highly sessionable one. I had like 3 of them, it was appreciable with something to eat. Reminded me of Spanish San Miguel and a bit of Italian Forst. Simple lager, very easy to go, almost couldn’t feel that 5% abv. Extra light body, rather flat taste, moderate carbonation. Plain average, but probably a must here. (20.08.2012)

Update: this seems to be common in central SP, usually served extra cold or below zero, into ice buckets with small "shot" glasses. Description as above, curious vintage design. Possibily this is the best Cerveza you can have during petiscos and local meals. (02.2014)

Update: ok together with serramalte this is the best, and pretty much the standard, of the cerveja here in Itaim area of SP. Price ranges from R$9 to R$12 a bottle. Almost everybody goes with this, and for a good reason, others such as Brahma or Bohemia are just tasteless. Seems to have a myth status here, it just breaks the bank. Can’t compete with european standards, but that’s it.

It’s a good pilsen. Very round and soft taste. Good option for the hot brazilian summer days

Straight pour from a pry-off 630ml bottle to Pilsner / Pokal glass Appearance (3/5): Light golden in color, perfectly clear, but with a better than average than average head: starts from 2 ½ fingers of a bone-white iceberg, fading to just a thin cap with moderate lacing. Unexpected for the style, but enjoyable. Smell (5/10): Light scent of pilsner malts with just a hint of something light and fruity. Taste (6/10): Following the nose, but without the fruity character and more of a crisp, slightly bitter pilsner note. Malts are very light, but it does finish with a decently crisp bitterness. More or less average, but not unenjoyable. Mouthfeel (3/5): Light and slightly creamy with a decent carbonation, but nothing special. Overall (13/20): As with most Brazilian beers, this is a light lager that is best enjoyed “estupidamente gelada”—stupidly cold. Light, just barely crisp, good mouthfeel, it’s the epitome of a refreshing, hot-weather beer. Original is different from the others, with its exceptional head and mouthfeel.

Bottle drank in a random churrascao to celebrate the graduation of my step-brother. He looked happy. Everybody looked happy. And me, since my knowledge of portugese is still very limited, I drank this beer, hoping to get drunk on it, losing my inhibitions and then practicing my portugese without fear of being ununderstood. Well, none of this happened. I’m not even sure if I finished my 1-L bottle of this beer. My only certitude is that I greatly enjoyed my lemon-flavored Pepsi-Cola (very well paired with my torta de limão). Well, that’s all folks! See you soon!........................Oh, yeah, the beer. Well, very nice metallic flavors mixed with corn grain. Metallic flavours are eyeing on hints of pennies (here’s a 1958-Abraham Lincoln mint, there a 1990-Elizabeth II’ cenne noire). I also noticed some butter (make no mistakes, I do love butter, principally on my toasts but here, we’re talking about a popcorn beer). Color is golden-pale-tinkle-wizz-sparkling-peepee. Minimal bitterness, medium sweetness and dry saltiness. Light body, thin feel and intense fizzyness. Not bad, not bad at all.... (¬_¬)

Clear yellow and head that actually lasts for a while which has a bit lacing. Slight hoppy aroma, light taste and a slight bitter finish. Quite a reasonable pilsner and on the higher end of the Brazilian beer market. I would take it over most others in Brazil.

600ml bottle in Alta Floresta, Brazil. Dry hoppy aroma & Flavour. Pale golden yellow colour. Not a bad lager.
