Several bottles outside Bar Urca enjoying the great views of Rio. This beer seemed to be everywhere and whilst it wont win any taste awards there is some drinkability here. Its crisp and there is some half decent bitterness lurking. Maybe I was caught up in the moment of a beautiful spot but Ive had much worse beers and I think this is the pick of all the mass produced brazilian lagers. I like the penguin label too.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 Regular. É a cerveja mais famosa e tradicional do Brasil. Após fusão da empresa com outras, a marca caiu no esquecimento e a qualidade também. Infelizmente hoje é uma cerveja fraca e sem sabor, muito diferente do que era na década de 80. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from a random store in Bonito, Brazil. Clear golden colour with a small and fading white head. Lemon, grain and grassy hops all round. Clean, crisp and refreshing sans any overt adjunct character present in many of its contemporaries. Light body, medium carbonation, short and gentle finish.
