Slightly watery flavour of roasted malt, alcohol, dark chocolate and a light bitter finish. Average bodied. A pretty good Stout. garthicus (1215), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2009 Thanks to HogTownHarry for sharing with Blankboy and I. Appearance: Translucent brown with a small eggshell head. Aroma: Lactose, alcohol and mildly overdone toast with malt and a little tiny bit of coffee. Flavour: Slight sour milk, coffee, dark chocolate, malt, turf, chocolate and a long malty coffee finish. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2009 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy and garthicus via trade mgermani. Cloudy deep ruby with a small off-white head. Smells sweet and a bit burnt, not all that impy-like, but sweet, treacly and fairly appealing. Taste is more stout-like, decent alcohol, quite roasty with coffee and dark chocolate bitterness, some dry herbal character, but a bit buttery. Light body, slick, slightly boozy, it has a decent malty herbal linger to it. Odd, but not bad. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Apr 20, 2009 (Bottle) Purchased at Spinnakers Wine Merchants in James Bay, Victoria, BC, for $4.09. Pours a thin, semi-clear deep brown beneath a quick dissipating white, weak head. Nose is fairly robust with coffee and strong malt. Decent texture, it really had appeared to be thinner but this is pretty good. Nice buttery flavour amongst the coffee base. A little hint of the 8.5% abv. Fairly good. 7/2/7/3/14
