mgermani (649), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 9, 2007 Pours a dark, dark amber with a minimal head and some lace. Nose of sweet molasses, partially-refined sugar and a bit of roastiness. Tastes smooth and roasted at first, then vinous and slightly yeasty and warm in the aftertaste. Notes of cocoa and coffee, and sweet molasses as well. Thin, watery body but lightly creamy. Quite a decent beer, but as Oakes points out, more like a porter than a stout. A solid effort from Antares!
