Grainy and toasty with plenty of sweetness and a lot of corn in the nose. Hazy yellow-tan coloured body is topped by a fizzy white head that recedes rapidly to a thin partial cover. Corn and toasted malts and a very dusty character with moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium-light body is somewhat watery in texture with short-lived and somewhat low carbonation. Stem glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Brewery Creek, Jul-07).

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 BeerPrince (1701) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 7, 2007
Golden and slightly hazy with minimal head. Aroma and flavour has a corn taste and was a touch stale. Finishes a little sticky.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mgermani (932) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 1, 2007
Pours a slightly hazy dull yellow with a small white foam ring. Aroma is bready, cereal malts and some faint hops. Tastes of very light corn and malt, some citrus notes but nothing too engaging. Body is thin but very creamy and smooth, decent carbonation. This is a very subtle but ultimately bland beer.

Bottle, Brewery Creek Mardel/Santa Clara del Mar, along with El Bolson/Bariloche and Baires were Argentina’s pioneering microbrew regions. The three would be akin to SF, Seattle and PDX in the US. Antares was one of the bigger pioneering breweries from that era. That we can now get this in Vancouver brings a tear to my eye, as it is a watershed moment both in both the Vancouver and Argentinian scenes. May Fukito be able to buy a Black Toque in the near future...
Hazy straw colour. Large bubbles - looks rustic and kolsch is the opposite of that. Aroma is toasty, salty with a mushroom/tofu note. Quite toasty pale malt with earth and pear skin notes alongside black pepper and mushroomy notes. Watery finish.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 davidpl (435) - Santiago, CHILE - APR 30, 2007
Appearance: golden transparent, slightly turbid. Head beige, compact and persistent.
Aroma: fruity with touches of green apple and lemon. Reminiscences of sponge cake, vanilla and banana.
Flavor: fruity less present that in the aroma. Sour final and dry hoppy.
Palate: light body, watery texture with sensation of velvet. Soft carbonation
My first Kolsch, I wait soon taste one of Colonia that returns me the hope in the style.
(Sorry for my English)
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Glouglouburp (4558) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 28, 2007
Bottle. Slightly cloudy blonde body with a very small white head. Light aroma of wet buttery malts. The body is well malted and the malts feel bready, “wet” and soft. Wet grass and a light vegetable flavour taking of the form of cooked rutabaga. Some perfumy hops adds an aromatic touch but not much to the taste. Sweet malts finish with a light smoke touch. The too-soft carbonation didn’t improve the bland experience. Felt cheap. That’s what you get when you pay for your source material with pesos.

Bottle: A bit thin, hoppy and slightly bitter. Tastes a bit fake and chemical, like rusted water.
