COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Josh's translation of the Spanish description: A classic English style. Antares Porter promotes digestion, in an abundant sea of foam, with notes of toasted malt and chocolately finish. In antiquity, doctors prescribed this beer, enriched with an egg yolk, for nursing mothers. Nowadays, many remember it for that reason, but prefer to enjoy the virtues of a malty palate accented with hops. With 5.5%abv, this beer is excellent with smoked meats and seafood.

What can i say abaout this beer? Its one of the best, I live at "Mar del Plata" the heart of Antares, and where they produce this excellent beer. I enjoyed in other places (Buenos Aires) but if you have the oportunity to drink it here... you wont regret.

Enjoyed this one on tap at the John John Pub & Grill Restaurant in Buenos Aires. Very faint aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. A black color with ruby edges. The head of fine bubbles rapidly faded to a thin layer. The flavor started off with roasted malts followed by chocolate. A faint aftertaste of bitterness and coffee. Low carbonation. Good mouthfeel. The bottled version is not as good but still enjoyable (3.3).

An unexpected surprise to come across this in an un assuming little cafe in Bariloche. Argentina is full of surprises and this is a nice one. Dark red/brown, almost black. Enticing aroma, vanilla, chocolate. Full mouthfeel, chocolate hints, not exactly a flavour explosion but really pleasant nonetheless.
