mgermani (583), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 23, 2007 Pours a dark, dark brown with a beautiful tan head and great lacing. It has a very raw, sweet aroma - quite present - like a caramelized biscuit. It’s reminiscent of something that I can’t quite put my finger on... Roasty, creamy flavour - sweetness is well-balanced against the subtle hops and it maintains that delicious cookie taste. A light metallic taste detracts only slightly, and the finish is slightly bitter and smoky. The body, while under-carbonated, is rich and creamy. This beer is a very good unoffensive porter - congenial without being bland.
lgklotet (396), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 8, 2008 330 ml bottle. Chocolate and vanilla. Very little roastiness. Body is average to thin, some hop-bite. A little thin, but not without character. Thx for sharing this Omhper. jcwattsrugger (3793), Florida and, New Jersey, USA May 26, 2008 660ml bottle-pours a big foamy to creamy tan head and mahogany color. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate/molasses/peat, maybe some licorice, some earthy hops. Taste is dark malt-chocolate/molasses/peat, maybe some licorice, some earthy hops-with a fair amount of astringency which goes from initial thru aftertaste, medium body. The astringency reduces by the second pour then some dark fruitiness comes through. OK carbonation.
