Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 25, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Clear amber golden with a dense, off-white head leaving laces. Sweetish caramel in the nose. Surprisingly light-bodied with a little burned caramel and a whiff of cardboard. No bitterness. Rather poor. 200908 omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 25, 2006 Draught at Gibraltar, Buenos Aires Deep ruby. Aroma of resin and butterscotch. Fairly sweet, caramelly and medum-full bodied. Low on hops, allowing malt to dominate, although despite being mouthfilling the burst of flavour is short. Solid, but somewhat sweet and unrefined. Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2007 Hazy reddish-chestnut. No head. The aroma is toasty with chocolatey accents, earth, nuts. Full body at first, but gets a bit watery late. Watery-ish finish aside, it is mostly chewy. Sweetish flavour carries toasty, earthy malt notes and maybe some vague esters just for fun. oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland Aug 24, 2008 Bottled (thanks omhper!). Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is caramel, fruity hops, earth and wood. Flavour is caramel, fudge and some hints of earthyness. TBone (5172), Pori, Finland Aug 31, 2008 Bottled
A bit hazy ruby color, small off-white head. Caramellty, grassy nose. Light, caramelly, butterscotchy and grassy flavor. It is kind of Scotch ale, but not really really enjoyable one.
