Draught at St. Augustineís, Vancouver
Very pale blond color with almost no head. Some aroma of apple and plastic, light, and acidic; light hazelnuts. Dry and weak mouthfeel; light cider flavor, a bit of cider vinegar, with light acidity; the final is lightly bitter, vegetable.
It feels like drinking Swedish face ciders.

Draught, St Augs. Pale green-yellow. Lots of alcohol taste, little bit of apple. No hops noted. Bit sulphury, big alcohol late and itís thin. Iím looking for a positive here but not finding one.

Clear golden pour with a thin layer of white fizzy foam. Really nice fruity aroma, presumably from the hops? Citrus and floral notes, sweet apple, and a bit of yeast. The flavor is sweet up front with a dry finish. Floral and citrus notes, nice apple flavor, and a light tartness.

Bottle at Meridian Pint. Clear yellow color, rare bubbles. Aroma of lightly dusty apple skins. Aroma of bittersweet apples, white pepper. OK. I donít get a lot of the hops character, unless itís the pepperiness.

Tap at Smoke & Barrel. Pours clear champagne. Little to no carbonation. Nose is apple juice and chemicals. Taste follows suit with mild tartness. Compared to the world of ciders this is pretty much garbage. Baby's apple juice comes to mind. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Beer Run. I believe this is the first time Iíve ever had a hopped cider. Pours a clear amber color with no head. Aroma of tart apples, apple skins, floral and peppery hops. The taste is tart apples and herbal hops. Medium bodied. Interesting, but I canít say Iím a fan of this concept.

Tap at Breakside, PDX, 25/05/13. Clear blonde with no head, carbonation evident. Nose is apples, sugars, hint of booze. Taste comprises bitter apples, earthy/grassy qualities, sugar. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, crisp dry finish. Ok cider.

Bottle (batch #6 from 3/15/12). Pours with a very pale and very clear straw hued body with a fizzy white head that fades to a ring. Aromas are fruity, pine, grapefruit, lightly mineral, pear like, resin, dry apple. Certainly unique. Flavors are odd. Slightly musty, grapefruit, grassy, mineral like. Tasty but strange. Dry apple underneath, somewhat more bitter/tannic than usual. Mild malic acidity nearly balances. Low sulfur. Medium bubbles, dry and light bodied. Unique.

Bomber from Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting. Pours clear gold, champagne colored with minimal head and a requisite champagney level of carbonation, although not quite as much bubbling. Nose was apples, tart, mild hops. Tasted crisp, dry, like a cider/white wine/champagne triple hybrid, and a dry finish. Interesting.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with no real head. Soft tart apples on the nose, a very faint hint of citrus and pine hops, though Iím certainly trying to find it. Just on the thin side of medium bodied, a touch herbal. Soft tartness into the finish. Not sure if the bottle is old or if itís just more of a subdued hop thing, but I really didnít get what I was looking for here. Decent enough I guess, but didnít live up to expectations.
