You may have taken a draw of this Belgian brew in the past, during your afternoon "client relations" meetings at Brasserie Beck. The double blonde was developed with the help of some intense Belgian brewers (as if there’s any other kind) known as the Brouwerij De Musketiers, and it actually helped Thor Cheston, Beck’s beer director, get knighted by the beer guild in Brussels.

And now, for the first time, they’re bottling it. It comes in a 750ml version—complete with corks and wire cages—and, at this very minute, it’s on a ship approaching our shores, where it’s due to arrive any day (icebergs notwithstanding) for your closer-to-home client relations. When it gets here, expect something citrusy and yeasty, but a little less potent than your typical Belgian

750ml bottle from private import. Aroma: apples, spices. App: hazy light golden with huge white head, awesome lacing. Taste and palate: full body, kinda smooth for the palate, light sweetness, light bitter finish. Overall: better than expected. Even though I don’t appreciate much the aroma and taste, the palate is right on. Really easy to drink, even though it’s near 7% abv.

Light misty golden body, large head, bubbly. Belgian yeast notes, pear, young cheese. Full taste, very nice actually, not super bitter, but outspoken for the style. Lovely long and quite dry ending. Yummy spicy peppery notes too. Pleasant surprise from this anonymous looking bottle. (75cl bottle from Deconinck)

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is golden colored and has a large and stable white head, with livingly CO2. The aroma is malty, light hoppy and yeasty, also some fruit notes (citrus) and a hint of spices. The taste is malty and light sweet, but also a little yeasty with in the background some spices and fruits. Finish is light bitter with some hop notes and a little dry yet refreshing.

Taster at Taphouse. High creamy and long lasting white head. Hazy yellow body. Mild and weak fruity aroma. Dry and acidic fruity citrus pine flavor with a good deal of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long bitter finish.

At Bruges Beer Fest. It appears hazy golden with a big white head. The aroma contains apple, citrus, spices, herbs and yeast. Starts off medium sweet and becomes medium bitter in the lasting finish. Medium body and fizzy carbonation. Drinkable, but a bit too spicy and peppery.
