You may have taken a draw of this Belgian brew in the past, during your afternoon "client relations" meetings at Brasserie Beck. The double blonde was developed with the help of some intense Belgian brewers (as if there’s any other kind) known as the Brouwerij De Musketiers, and it actually helped Thor Cheston, Beck’s beer director, get knighted by the beer guild in Brussels.

And now, for the first time, they’re bottling it. It comes in a 750ml version—complete with corks and wire cages—and, at this very minute, it’s on a ship approaching our shores, where it’s due to arrive any day (icebergs notwithstanding) for your closer-to-home client relations. When it gets here, expect something citrusy and yeasty, but a little less potent than your typical Belgian

750 c&c from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy dark gold with a foamy/creamy 4 finger off-white head. Aromas of citrus, yeast/spice, a soupçon of earth. Maybe pineapple? Med body. It is pleasant, earthy, yeasty, and citrusy bitter? Or herby bitter? Really quite nice.

Pours a cloudy, dark golden yellow color with a two finger frothy white head that has very good retention, only slowly settling into a lasting ring that leaves streaks and chunks of soapy lacing behind. Slightly earthy aroma with hints of grassy hops, bread and light fruit. There’s also some subtle spice and a pale malt backbone. Hints of grass, straw and pine followed by some apple and pear as well as some subtle alcohol. Medium bodied with a touch of crisp, earthy hops up front that provide a faint bitterness that slowly fades into dry finish. There’s a slightly creamy texture mid-palate that adds to the mouthfeel and complexity of the beer. Not as earthy as the aroma suggests with only faint grassy presence. Sweeter than expected with a pale malt backbone along wither estery and bready yeast flavors. Hints of apple and banana followed by a touch of boozy sweetness in the finish. Not overly complex but well balanced, flavorful and easy to drink.

Pours hazy golden color with white head. Fruity and grassy aroma with some dough. Similar flavor with some spiciness. Medium body with average carbonation. Better than I was expecting.

love the look, feel and taste of this beer. its got a nice assortment of golden straw malts with a touch of floral arrangements. slightly fruity wiith honey like sweetness. the palate is very soft and the carbonation is not very fizzy but it does work its magic.

The aroma is like corn malt with fruity yeast and hay like hops. The appearance is golden with a slight haze and a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma with a bitter finish. The palate is smooth but thin. Overall a nice beer.

750 ml bottle that poured a niice clear yellow color that quenched myy thiirst by looking at it. Aromas of clove, grass, and citrus. Had a little sweet taste of citrus followed by a nice spice finish, a decent outside, in the heat beer.

750ml Nice looking beer, faint cloudiness and golden yellow with an impressive white head that stands quite awhile. peppery spicy nose with light citrus, yeast, some grassiness and a faint funk. Quite hoppy, even amount of bitterness with a creamy mouthfeel and finishing dry. Lightly sweet and spicy, a real nice Tripel!

This is a pretty spicy beer that tastes like a not-so-subtle saison. The crux of the body isn’t so strong, but the beginning and the end are quite spicy. Smooth, flavorful, definitely worth it.

750ml bottle - $9.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a clear, lightly hued yellow body with a large, growing, white head. Smell: Lightly sweet-scented maltiness in the nose, with a dash of ground spice, dried lemon rinds, and humble, low-priced floral arrangements. Taste: Lightly malted barley, perhaps with a trifling inclusion of pils. Soft sugary sweetness at the start. Citrusy boosts of lemon juice, lemon verbana fold into a slight grassiness and underlying spice element. Lightly bitter. Growing Continental hop character and bitterness as it warms, though not overly so. Small bit of yeast. Dry, fruity, and certainly fizzy finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Highly carbonated. Overall: A tasty, refreshing Belgian ale. Sure, it’s a bit gassy, but it’s still quite good.
