Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen 03.12.15. 4,7 % ABV. Golden amber. Foamy and persistent off-white head and lacing. Aroma of malt and toffe with a hint of strawberry jam. Taste of malt, toffee, dark syrup, balanced with moderate bitterness from fine hops. Excellent drinkability!

Mye godt i bare 4,7%.

Bottle from Det Gode Brygg, Sandnes. ABV 4,7%. Pours clear red/amber with a big creamy weak beige head. Aroma of toffee and nutty malts. Taste is well balanced, moderate sweet, amber and nutty malts with a herbal and weak bitter finish, notes of liquorice, which always trigger a point or two extra from me.

A beautiful brownish red beer with soft pearling foam and great aroma. A truly interesting beer from Zwönitz that is quite unique.

Maker: Brauerei und Gasthof Zwönitz, Zwönitz, Germany *** Beer: Zwönitzer Feiromd Bier (bottled, 500ml) *** Style: Vienna/Amber Lager *** ALC.VOL.: 4.9% *** Colour: Clear mahogany; huge, beige head. *** Nose: Caramel, sour dough. Sour-sweetish. *** Texture: Medium body, not too watery. Active carbonation. *** Taste: Carmel, brown bread, biscuity malts. Slight coffee note, too. The bready notes dominate the middle, now with a little hoppy bitterness, too. Bitterness increases in the finale. Hazelnut notes there. Aftertaste slightly sweet, malty, but also spicy. *** Impressions: Deviates considerably from the amber lager style; more like an overly carbonated, more bitter than usual "Dunkles". Really not bad, if you’re in for malt and bread notes. Sufficiently bitter in the finish, so it doesn’t fall flat like many "Dunkles" style beers.
