1l PETka from Kulovy Blesk. Hazy golden brown colour, beige head, lovely smoky nose. Medium-bodied, malty with not too much of smoke, quite in the background. Delicious and moreish beer.

Bottled. Appeared very well - solid dark brown cloudy body with an excelent (a bit unstable, which is expected) white foam. Aroma full of smoked malts. And the taste is like a smoked bacon, a bit sweet, quick finish. Very nice.

On draft. Slight bacon aroma. Cooper color with 1 finger head. Smokey, bacon taste. Not as strong as those in Bamberg, but nice nonetheless.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From PET bottle. Clear copper pour with white head. Meaty, smokey, birch bark aroma, pine needles/forest floor like notes, pretty classic rauch aroma. Meaty, bacon, toasted grain flavours. Palate is quite silky, moderate carbonation. Tasty.

My Bottom Line:
Peppery smoke is admirably linked to wooden, leafy hops in this delicate Rauchbier.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam sits atop the misty bronze-hued red.
-All flavors are well leveled, of the same moderate intensity.
-Drinkability is quite high.
-This may not be a very deep example, but it is highly enjoyable.
Fresh PET bottle.
