1l PETka from Kulovy Blesk. Hazy golden brown colour, beige head, lovely smoky nose. Medium-bodied, malty with not too much of smoke, quite in the background. Delicious and moreish beer.

From PET bottle. Pours clear dark brown/copper with a big creamy white head. Aroma of smoked bacon, weak campfire. Taste is mild sweet and light smoked, well balanced, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, me like.

on tap at the 2014 dira kultury beerfest in pilsen. hazy dark amber with a lingering off-white head; plenty of smoke in the aroma, hints of rye; some burnt banana sweetness, salted caramel, mellow and pretty decent

Bottled. Appeared very well - solid dark brown cloudy body with an excelent (a bit unstable, which is expected) white foam. Aroma full of smoked malts. And the taste is like a smoked bacon, a bit sweet, quick finish. Very nice.

On draft. Slight bacon aroma. Cooper color with 1 finger head. Smokey, bacon taste. Not as strong as those in Bamberg, but nice nonetheless.

From PET bottle. Clear copper pour with white head. Meaty, smokey, birch bark aroma, pine needles/forest floor like notes, pretty classic rauch aroma. Meaty, bacon, toasted grain flavours. Palate is quite silky, moderate carbonation. Tasty.

My Bottom Line:
Peppery smoke is admirably linked to wooden, leafy hops in this delicate Rauchbier.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam sits atop the misty bronze-hued red.
-All flavors are well leveled, of the same moderate intensity.
-Drinkability is quite high.
-This may not be a very deep example, but it is highly enjoyable.

Fresh PET bottle.
