2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 JorisPPattyn (6710) - Antwerpen, - FEB 11, 2005
(Draught) Hazelnut brown, creamy head, leaving lace; chestnut brown beer with amber shine. Diacetyl in the nose, lots of it, caramel. Taste: diacetyl and a markedly sourish taste, phenolic. Ye Gods, this stuff is infected! ON the premises, if you please. Metallic - and again a little caramel, toffee and German sourdough bread; metallic finish. Tartness from the acids, lactic acid probably, determine the MF. Some body, probably the caramel colouring, or am I too cynic? This is really inadmissible. A brewpub - even Brouwer vd Grote Markt didn’t stoop this low. BUT - GOOD NOTE !After being asked whether I liked the beer, and me speaking my mind, first the responsible, then the commercial director came to see me. They even started searching for a pH meter... I have solemny pledged to come back and rerate the beer on another occasion. Which I will.

Fra fat på brewpuben i Antwerpen 29 Apr 11. Dyp brun. Lavt skum. Nesten ikke aroma. Flat uforanderlig smak av karamell. Kjedelig.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kuphish (351) - Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA - NOV 7, 2011
On tap at the brewery. Clear, chestnut body. Thick white head sticks to the side of the glass. Puffy lace. Dark cherry nose with a bit of brown sugar molasses. Flavor of fig and dried date comes through a little. Metallic aroma reminiscent of iron that detracts. Yeast profile is pretty low. A touch of grape. Light body, highly carbonated, but not unpleasant. Dry finish with lingering dried fruit flavor...avoids being overbearing. Quite drinkable.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Benjii (2328) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 28, 2011
On draught at Huisbrouwerij t’Pakhuis in Antwerp. Pours an attractive red -brown colour with a thin beige head. Massive speculoos biscuit aroma! Also some caramel, toffee, treacle and yeast. Similar flavours. Quite biscuity with mild bitterness and grassy hops. Some light black pepper to finish. Foamy mouth-feel with mild carbonation and CO2 prickle. Nice.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 yngwie (9175) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 17, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. A clear, copper colored beer with a big, off-white head. The aroma has a decent mix of dried fruits, cellar and caramel, some fresh fruits too. Sweet caramel flavor with a pleasant touch of dried fruits and yeast. Rather thin on the palate. Short finish too. Certainly more pleasant than the blond. 110429

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUL 4, 2011
Leicht süß-malziger Geruch. Nett.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Rune (4924) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 1, 2011
Tap at the brewhouse. Near clear, dark brown body. Ring of bubbles to the rim of the glass. Sweet malty nose. Rather sharp roasted caramel malts to the taste buds added by hints of butter. Bittering malts to the ending. Feels a bit watered in the mouth (Antwerpen, 29.04.2011).

On tap at the brewpub. Almost clear brown body with a fine, dense off-white head. Aroma is mild caramel and slightly roasted. Flavor is refreshing malty, light caramel and light bitterness. Nothing really extraordinary, but refreshing and balanced thirst-quencher.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 txspartan (664) - Wilrijk, BELGIUM - MAR 11, 2011

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 tderoeck (1583) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAR 3, 2011
27/02/2011 - on tap @ ’t Pakhuis (2011-71)
Pretty clear purple brown beer, beige creamy head, non adhesive and only a little stable. No carbon in the glass. Aroma: mocha, chocolate, some little bit of dried fruits, spices (ginger). MF: light carbon, light to medium body. Taste: caramel, bit of mocha, some spices, a little bitter (hops). Aftertaste: some mocha, souch cherries or forrest fruits, again just a little bit bitter. Note: Even more than the blond version, this beer is way too cold when served from the tap. Warming up the glass with both hands does miracles towards aroma’s and taste.
