COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mata Black-Bru pours a rich creamy head settling to black with a deep red hue. This very drinkable Irish style stout is full of alluring flavours and aromas of coffee, chocolate and roasted barley which linger with every mouthful.

Lord knows I love stout. I love it with a good man’s fervour: I love it, I love it, I love it. This beer will have to jump through hoops to impress me. As black as sin with a mocha head that sat, thinned and then clung to the sides of glass. Intensely chocolately aromas. Smells like chocolate self-saucing pudding and more savoury molasses aromas. There’s evidence of plenty of depth here. Doesn’t taste intensely sweet, but it it cool, unctuous and has good flavours of chocolate before some dry bitterness comes through, courtesy of the barley. Plenty of carbonation and a finish that isn’t long and lingering and certainly not short. Berry flavours come through here: blackcurrants and boysenberries.

330ml bottle. Pours a thick black engine oil colour with a delicate tan head that sits nicely before settling. Espresso coffee aroma with some roasted barley. Strong chocolate and coffee flavour that is robust and leaves a lingering burnt aftertaste in the mouth. Packs a bit of a punch and is well rounded and full bodied.

Bottle. Does as it says on the label this. More chocolate in the nose, more coffee in the mouth. Lacking the dryness, but this make it very easy drinking. I’m having more!
