COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mata Feijoa is a palate cleansing, spritzy real fruit ale edged with the unique taste of Feijoa. The Feijoa in the beer comes from real fruit which is added in at a secret point in the production process.

Clear gold pour with a stiff white head leaving heavy lace. Feijoa and citrus hop nose. Light body with moderate carbonation. Lemon, feijoa, bread, lime zest. Decent and unique, but far from a top fruit beer.

330ml Bottle, flute. Gift from Sue - thanks. Light golden hue with weak and very short lasting thin rocky white head, minimum lacing. Aroma is very unique to me, I really like feijoas so enjoyed the feijoa on light malt base aromas. Tasted like feijoa with the skin or feijoa that isn’t ripe yet i.e it was a bit sour/tart. The mouth feel is noticeably thin, finish is dry but of very short duration. I liked this for its novelty value and feijoa-ness but probably wouldn’t buy it to have again.

Bottle 330ml. Nice fruit beer. Aroma is citrusy, and tart. Taste is sweet and slightly sour, with short duration. Thin body, and fizzy palate. Yellow colour, with a head that disappears.

Smells like a margarita, pours yellow green and has a sour flavour and that is it. Not a winner, not a winner at all.

Couldn’t really get my around this one. The ’fruit’ is quite tart and citrus like but there is a clear malt underlay’ something almost approaching a Czech pilsner. Didn’t really hang together as I thought the tartness just poked out to much.

Light golden, rocky head quickly dissipates. Aromas are sour, that of feijoa and citrus hops. Sweet malt. Slight metallic scent :(... Very dry and sour, interesting beer. Quite like a champagne style wine. No real aftertaste, finishes clean. Odd, but a nice fruit beer.

330ml bottle - clear straw yellow with a cider like appearance. Dry armpits waft from the feijoa fruit with a touch of almost menthol cigarettes feel about it. Palate is very thin and refreshing - crisp with the fruit character lingering at the finish. To the uninitiated it would almost be a spritzer or cider than beer but interesting none the less.
