Most interesting beer I tasted on my trip to NZ. Beautiful in color, deep amber. Rich aroma, nutty and citus. a nice undertone of Manuka honey. Quite enjoyed this unique beer. Tried to find in outside NZ... found out it was a local beer.

Tasted on tap @ The Great Kiwi Beer Festival 2012 in Christchurch. Sweet taste with a strong honey base (of course!) Really tasty, delicious if you like "sweet" beers.

Tasted at Beervana 2008. Slight Manuka honey in the aroma. Flavours of Manuka honey, vanilla. No bitterness to speak of, quite 1 dimensional.

On tap at Manukau Festival. Pours a dark yellow with a small white head. some sweetness with caramal aromas. Citric hops aromas. Tiny hint of honey. Light bodied. Rather flat. Short dry finish.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 DuffMan (4418) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 29, 2009
Pours a deep golden with a moderate white head that collapses to a thin ring. Slightly toasty grainy aroma and flavour with soft sweet honey notes, with subtle floral perfume essence. Finish is short and dry with minimal bitterness. Decent, but nothing especially exciting. I’m happy that they didn’t allow the honey accents to kill this beer with sweetness, as so often seems to happen in North American honey lagers.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Stew41 (1456) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - JUN 12, 2009
Not bad this. Honey is quite pronounced in the aromas (dark honey of the non-industrial variety) yet shows good subtly as well. Unfortunately the palate is a bit of a non event; bland lager-ish style but the flavours are suprisingly Asahi-liek dry. Still, I think it plays better than the percentile suggests.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 TheGrandMaster (2313) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 2, 2007
2006 bottle (courtesy of yalnikim), a clear bright amber with a white frothy head. A light hoppy aroma with a good touch of honey. A light palate and a good hop bitterness all the way through. The flavour is slightly honeyed. A little bland, but quite refreshing.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mkel07 (1804) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 19, 2011
330ml bottle. Pours a clear golden amber with a fluffy white foam crown. It looks good in the glass and the honey edged aroma makes your anticipation grow. The aroma is moderate with a maltiness that struggles to come through. Fills the mouth and is smooth on the palate. Lightly bittered flavour is like the aroma and struggles to find it’s way. Not bad for a golden ale.

I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon.
Very avarage ale, a bit honey like in the refreshing flavor.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, golden with a small, white head that dissipates quickly. Lightly sweet aroma where a whiff of honey can be detected. Medium-bodied with lightly sweet malt accents and a dry, lightly bitter finish. Drinkable but unspectacular. 260108
