Bottled 500ml (BB 07/2012)
Thanks to my little brother from buying this from Cesis. Clear golden color, good white head. Typical Latvian cardboardish grainy and sweet corn malty aroma. Medium-bodied. As it is from Aldaris, this beer has relatively clean sweetish malty backbone. Low bitterness. Some alcohol in the flavor. Very typical Baltic strong lager.

500ml bottle (Rimi, Riga)
5 Subdued sweet malty aroma, classic Baltic ESL.
2 Mid gold, fluffy head.
5 Slightly sweet, slightly plasticky retronasals, some pencil sharpening hops there too. Simple taste, mostly the sweet malts.
2 Simple smooth sweet body, with some crisp carbonation to stop it getting too sticky. Finish is initially a little bit alcoholic and estery, but the long finish is quite bitter with noble hops.
9 Respect for keeping the 7% relatively well in check, it’s only there if you actively hunt for it. Definitely on the ESL side of the ESL/ML divide.
