Huge thanks to cheeseman for this one. Pours a nice copperish hue with nice legs clinging to the glass. Simple aromas of earthy honey, light spice, and a hint of booze. Wow this is herbal with a wonderful rich honey backing. A touch of the ABV can be detected the overall balance is nice. Thick in body and rich. A real nice mead.

Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 29, 2010
Bottle, courtesy Cheeseman. The still pour looks dense, sporting a medium golden-amber color. Moderate to thick, drippy legging streams down the glass after each tilt. The nose is complex and rich, booming with fresh floral honey, with underlying notes of golden raisin, earthy-sweet fig, and a very soft touch of dried apple acidity (just a smidgen). Flavors are the mirror image, again loaded with warming blended honey and stewed, concentrated raisins and dates. The light, appley acidity lightens things up just a tad, keeping it interesting and lively. Just shy of full bodied, the viscous palate coast the mouth well, but seems just a little to sugary. Alcohol provides warmth, but doesn’t get overly hot and obtrusive. Excellent stuff.

Clear orange-amber color, no head. Deep aroma in the nose: honey, wood, clover. Flavor has strong honey flavor, then strong alcohol and again leading to clover spiced honeyness. Tasty.

Thanks to the cheeseman. I drank too much of this. Nice mead. A little thin, but nice and smooth and sweet on the palate. Great flavor. Very good mead.
