Gargantuan big daddy tarantula legs up the sides of the snifter on the swirl--holy cow. Sharp boozy nose, especially at first. Then caramel, vanilla, honey, and floral notes creep in. Amazingly three dimensional aromatics profile, constructed seemingly entirely out of sugar. Thick, viscous, tongue-drowningly gloppy body. Delectable goo. Complex woody, floral, and arrayed sugar taste notes (see above from the nose). Lingering sticky sweet finish. This stuff is so good you want to stick your fingers in it and pick your nose. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

Pours a lightly hazy orange amber with little to no head. Aroma of honey, alcohol, cherries, dark fruits, vanilla, floral notes and scotch. Flavor of honey, lots of sweetness, orange, other various fruits...this is a sweet sipper...but very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing Dan. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Upon pouring it is slow like oil creating a beautiful golden color. Aroma is heavy with alcohol and wood, berries and sweet honey. The flavor is sweet with a nice raspberry touch to it, light wood and a thick stciky mouthfeel. A Perfect nightcap. juiceisloose (678), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Courtesy boboski. Poured a clear amber color. This just looked like syrup in the glass as it stuck to the edges. The aroma was profound of honey, flowers, and alcohol. The aroma was intense with sweetness. I knew the flavor was going to be big, but this was huge on flavor. Had huge honey flavors with some floral flavors in the background. The alcohol warmth was there, but not overpowering. The alcohol was masked really well. The mouthfeel was very full, slick and sticky to the palate. I have experienced nothing like it. This was just huge on flavor, that I could only take so much of it. This had quite a kick to it. I am definitely glad that I got the chance to try this. A truly world class mead. Thanks again Jason. | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Updated: Jan 29, 2008[Consumed large amounts over time @ Sunset Grill, bottle aged 8-9 years, apparently] Extremely powerful aroma-- sweet and full of fruit; flowery. Complex. Clear dark amber appearance, like liquid brown sugar. Superior honey flavors, so dense and slick with an incredible complexity. Cherries, woody honey and some slight maple. Huge honey character, overall. Super smooth and easy to drink... kind of dangerous Really one of my favorites. Indra (2041), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 30, 2007 750ml bottle courtesy of boboski. Nose like rich honey and roses, full and immensely heavy, the sweetness, flowers and alcohol almost palpable in the air. Medium-dark clear amber color, no visible carbonation as this stuff pours nearly like syrup. Flavor is my textbook definition of what a fermented honey beverage would be -- it really is like drinking thinned out honey, the alcohol is there but in the background for the most part as the immense honey character and floral touches dominate. Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth and thick, syrupy and sticky, body is seemingly huge. This stuff is pretty amazing, but even a few ounces was a bit much for me.
