4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 thickfreakness (132) - AUSTIN, USA - NOV 18, 2008
Many thanks to SoLan for the bottle. Pours clear with a pinkish amber color. Sweet floral honey with pears, raisins, and alcohol also in the nose. Flavors of rum soaked raisins, floral honey, pears, ripe apples, and booze. Very much like a dessert wine. Thick huge viscous mouthfeel. Awesome stuff. I will be savoring this bottle over quite a few nights.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jonno (1450) - JAPAN - MAY 25, 2012
Excellent - rich and decadent. Very sweet and full - but I never felt over whelmed. Thick pour - a bloody red colour. Lots of honey and the raspberry is a nice accompaniment. Some woody flavours too. All well integrated in a big, bold fantastic that shows depth in the aging process. An unmissable experience.

75 cl bottle (or what was left of it) @ Gastropub Tuulensuu. Rated on 22.01.2011
Aroma is sweetish with honey and some alcohol. Flavour is very sweet and rather rich on honey, some sugar and warming alcohol. Alcohol is also stinging on some sips. My first touch on the real Meads, nice.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 flatmatt (771) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - APR 12, 2012
UPDATED: APR 15, 2012 750 mL bottle. Pours a clear, still reddish brown. Aroma is extremely potent, ridiculously sweet honey and raspberry. Flavor is again powerfully sweet honey, hints of berry, herbal hints blending into an overall dusty oxidative tone. Hints at its alcohol content only with the intensity of the flavor. Ridiculously sweet and equally tasty.
Update: After a couple days in the fridge, this has oddly gotten even better. The dusty flavor I described as oxidation is totally gone, and it’s only better now!

This stuff is dangerous. pours a thick syrupy consistency. smell of rich honey with moderate notes of raspberry and a port like oxidized notes. overall smells sweet. taste is uber-rich honey and a balanced raspberry note and a hint of oxidation adding complexity. Taste is mostly honey with a compliment of fruit. There is indeed a bit of acidity keeping things from being too sweet. Overall very sweet but something just makes me want to keep drinking. Thoroughly enjoyable!
