COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It has very rich specific fragrance due to the addition of raspberries and wild rose to nectar honey.

1 litre of Półtorak style mead contains 720 g of natural honey. By comparison, the Dwojniak style of mead contains 610g/L of honey; the Trojniak contains 420g/L and the Czworniak contains 320g/L.

Półtorak mead matures for several years to achieve full clarity. In time its rich aroma hides a high content of alcohol (16%) and acidity forming the finest liquor there is.

This is a purely aesthetic and experiential taste, lacking the comfortable drinkabilty of an easier brew. I’m glad I was given the opportunity to taste this mead and learn about its historical significance. The experience of sampling this mead has been similar to the transcendant lucidity of an acid trip, whereby you are miraculously revealed to the vivid nature of the Earth’s substances.....Perhaps, I’ve lost you or... you are completely enthrawed. Regardless, this mead is full of honey, vanilla, and sweet refreshment. It is deliciously smooth, insidiously revealing its decor of tastefulness. I reccomend giving this mead a taste if afforded the opportunity.

This is my 1000th rating. I chose to rate this particular mead for a reason ; I come from Poland and this seams to be the best Polish delicacy on RB. The bottle 50cl made of ceramic. It has a deep red color. It leaves clear stains on the glass. NOSE : from far this mead has a wood like smell with strong aromas of fruits. Obviously the honey is on top layer. The fruit aromas are quite complex. Mostly red berry fruits. The aromas of booze comes up when putting the nose into the sniffer. After a while of oxidation it wares off. The quality of the honey aromas is just amazing. It has also notes of toffee and burned caramel. Even some chocolate. Roses. SIP : it is oily and sticky. It is quite thick. The feeling is very intense. The sweetness literally invades my mouth. It’s quite a shock whenever it touches my taste buds. Behind the top layer of sweetness it gets a bit acidic. It reveals complex fruit and flower notes. Aftertaste is sweet with aromas of rose dominating the palate. OVERALL : it’s really a delicacy. Maybe not something one might choose to get drunk but something definitely to cheer up with.

Bottle@Home. Alcoholic aroma with a lot of raisins and nuts. Brown coloured, cloying. Sweet, warming, very nutty, honey yes but not dominant. Sticky and full. Flavourful. Nice stuff.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 20.03.2013, bottle sampled @ BBGTC tasting:
Sødmerik lett tørr lukt med preg av honning, tre, rosiner, sukker. Sødmerik konsentrert smak med preg av fyldig honning, sukker, karamell, tre, litt sure epler. God, men kanskje litt søt.

Bottled. Pours clear reddish amber in color. Sweetish cantaloupe and darker honey sweetness in aroma. Taste on the whole lot is just more sweeter and so smooth. A bit strong at time to time, but yet so smooth, nice honey, dark sweetness too in aftertaste. As an aperitif this is just outstanding.
