COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lubelski is produced with the addition of wild forest fruits to nectar honey.

One litre of Półtorak mead contains 720 g of natural honey. Półtorak mead matures for several years to achieve full clarity. In time its rich aroma hides a high content of alcohol (16%) and acidity forming the finest liquor there is. It has a subtle though clearly discernible aroma.

2 oz sample thanks to JulienHuxley!

Appearance: Clear deep amber and it leaves nice legs on the glass.

Aroma: Burst of honey along raisins, moderate spiciness, port-like, earthy/mineral notes an alcohol (not overpowering, especially considering the abv).

Taste: Sweet and fruity with raisins, honey, floral presence, moderate spiciness, earthy/mineral notes, port and alcohol heat.

Palate: Full bodied. Liquorous and a bit oily mouthfeel. Interesting warming finish with a lingering sticky honey sweetness.

Overall: The best non Schramm’s mead that I have tried so far. Quite complex and really tasty. The alcohol warmth is definitely there, but it fits well with the other components and it never feels too much. Interesting balance. Loved it. Now I need to try the Jadwiga.

Sehr süßer aber nicht beißender Antrunk. Trotz des hohen Alkoholgehalts süffig, erst zum Ende intensiv nach Honig, Blüten. 9/12/13/12/11/12

Bottle shared by Borresteijn, small sample. Clear amber color, quite vinous. Aroma is flowery, honey, slight spicy, bit cookie. Quite complex in aroma for a mead, which is great. Soft sweet and sirupy in taste, warming alcohol. Good viscosity. Wonderful mead.

Sample shared by borresteijn, thanks Rob. Dark colored mead, brownish-amber color. Aroma of raisins, raisin bread, light cinnamon (although maybe only by association with raisins), honey, nice dessert spice. Taste is sweet, light acidity, very easy drinking, light warming feeling but no real boozy flavor, lots of raisins. Palate is liquory, mouth coating. Very nice.

75 bottle, brought from Poland, thanks Coen! Clear amber colour, no head. Aroma of brown sugar, raisins, very much like Madeira wine, some alcohol. Flavour is sweet, Madeira, raisins, rhum, brown sugar, sticky honey, some alcohol heat. Lots of raisins and brown sugar. Sweet and luscious. I usually don’t rate meads, but I paid €17,- for this, so I’ll be a hypocrite.

No head. Deep clear golden brown body. Deep fruity honey and raspberry aroma with vanilla and sherry notes. Sweet fruity floral taste with raspberry alcohol notes. Full-bodied. Soft, smooth mouthfeel with considerable alcohol heat. Sweet raspberry and vanilla aftertaste with wooden alcoholic fruity notes. Long, lingering vanilla sherry finish. Wonderful. Fantastically drinkable with lovely, lovely sippable qualities. Sharper than the jadwiga, and with less depth. (0.75l bottle from airport shop in Warsaw.)

Bottle shared by Fonefan at his place. Clear orange-red color, no head. Hard to describe but very nice aroma. Taste is very nicely balanced: honey, alcohol and lightly fruity. Nice.
