Bottled, thanks fiulijn! Clear deep golden. Balsamic, vinous honey aroma with some raisin. White pepper and Tokaji Aszú, medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Some tongue coating honey in a finish with slight tingling alcohol.

The color is between blond and golden. The aroma is intense and fresh, with some fruitiness and a hint of spices, and mild aroma of mountain honey. Sweet but not syrupy, with very balanced flavor, fresh, fruity, with a pinch of spices. No bitterness and no alcohol perception.
Very good, as usual.

Winter gathering thanks to the cheeseman Pours a nice golden hue, no real legs noticed. Simple sweet honey like aromas with a bit of booze. Flavor is simple honey with a nice blast of spice in the finish. There is a touch of citrus and some earthy pith going on as well. It’s a bit thin. Real glad I got to try it, not the best of the day though.

Bottle, courtesy of saxo. It’s a clear golden mead, flat and quite oily. The aroma is quite heavy on the honey, with heather and a herbal touch. A bit heavy on the alcohol. The same goes for the flavor, it’s too much alcohol going on. Honey and heather too. Oily and a bit thin on the palate. Warming too. Lasting finish. Overall, a bit heavy on the alcohol, but quite nice anyway. 110415

750ml bottle, courtesy Cheeseman. Pours still, with a medium-dark golden hue. Some agitation of the glass reveals a relatively thin body for a mead. Sheeting is delicate, and shows some fleeting, skinny legging. Honey aromas are only moderately sweet as they have been cut with a touch of citric acidity, including hints of lemon. There’s a bit of dry, earthen fruitiness in the background, along with some moderate dark spicing. Alcohol is not apparent. Flavors are primarily the same, with the floral honey sweetness tempered with fruity acidity and earthy spice. Lemon is again apparent. I don’t get any of the cherries that the commercial description forecasts, but their thinning, balancing effect is obvious. The palate is thin and lifeless, not at all viscous like a good mead should be. This is a strange one, overall. Not my thing.
