Missed rating this on our previous trip. On tap at Apocalypse. It poured a dark brown to black color with a small tan head. The aroma was of sweet roasted malts and hints of pepper. The taste was of brown sugar with some roasted nutty malts in the middle. The end was a pepper spice bomb that sticks around. Not bad.

Draft. Golden body with a white head. Nose is dominated by pepper with notes of toasted grain, floral hops. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter with the promised blast of pepper. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The strong pepper masks other flavors. Interesting, but couldn’t finish a whole pint.

on tap @ Apocalypse / Louisville --- Clear light dirty gold, rim head, dots of lace. Taste is inoffensive light malt that becomes a little sweeter in the palate. Typical light bitter enters, followed by an unexpected pepper shot in the back of the mouth. "Lingers" doesn’t cover the length of the finish. A daring brew, and interesting in a 4 ounce sample, but a pint of this would be too much for me.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of light citrusy and floral hops, light peppers, pale and caramel malts, and some dough. Flavor the same with the peppers adding on the finish. Average texture. Not a bad beer.

Draft taster at the brewery. Pours a clear, bright gold with a small white head. Aroma of black pepper, pale malts, lemon, and apple. Flavor of black pepper, apple, and a vinegar-based barbecue sauce. Yeah, that’s unusual but somehow not ruinous. Light-bodied, with a spicy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. They promised peppercorns, and they delivered. Drinks like a light, fruity-leaning pale ale that just got a sprinkling from a pepper grinder. Would go well with a pulled pork sandwich.

Tap: Pours hazy amber with a small white head. Caramel and pepper, grain aroma. Taste is a lively, peppery, spice heat alongside a minty coolness. Unusual feel and flavor, but very good and enjoyable.

Draft sample @ brewery. Pepper and light eucalyptus aroma. Hazy honey gold with a small white head. Tri-color peppercorn mix, fresh eucalyptus leaf flavor with a nice lingering heat. Light body, medium carbonation. I think you have to be a pepper lover to like this one, which I do.

Draft. Pepper and lemon aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet barley malt and strong tri-color pepper and menthol flavor. Lingering burn in back of the throat. Interesting to say the least.

Taster on tap at Party Town. Mildly hazy, mostly clear apple juice type color. Minimal white head, Bits of lace. Big black peppercorn flavor, really interesting and unique. Kind of spicy, really. Almost-spicy hot. Actually, it’s a little hot. I love that they went all out on this. It tastes like whole pepper kernels. Sweet taste, light bitter, then that big pepper spiciness. Lighter body. Crisp, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Huh, interesting stuff for sure. Way more assertive than expected.

Draft. Poured clear amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex peppercorn and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth complex raw peppercorn flavor with a medium complex pepper finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.
