Draft at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a clear dark golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have sweeter notes, watermelon juice, thin watery body, perhaps a touch of pale malts, but not much else. Maybe worth trying once for the tickers out there.

Draft at Ei8ht Ball, served in a sampler tray. Pours a clear but deep gold with a small ring of white head. Watermelon juice throughout - sweet and watery, but kind of refreshing. Some pale malts, grass - not much else. Low carbonation, light body. Not a whole lot to it. Still, I was glad to try it because I had another watermelon beer recently that was a pleasant surprise (at Morgan Street), and this was one of two things on tap when I visited Apocalypse that I didn’t get to. Curiosity satisfied.

4oz on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Clear orange color. Thin ring of white head. Some short ropes of lace. Pretty nice watermelon aroma, light spice. Tastes kind of artificially sweet, but not quite as candy-like as Lost Coast’s watermelon beer. Some herbal flavor, and wheat. Moderate sweet taste, lightly spicy. Very light bit of bitterness. Light to medium body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of a slick texture. Decent watermelon beer, not great though. Not something I’d want a whole portion of. Sort of lost interest 4oz in to my 5oz.

Taster at the ei8ht ball - nose is watermelon and strawberry. Tang. Weak for the style and this style gets a bad rap.

Tap sample. Poured clear orange color with an average fizzy white head that diminished quickly with fair lacing. Moderate tart fruity aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet green melon flavor with sweet green melon finish of moderate duration. This beer met my expectations.

Light reddish orange with white head. Aroma is sweet and a little musty. Taste is cross of watermelon and cucumber. Refreshing.

Aroma of light, refreshing watermelon. Appearance of watermelon with sticky white head. Flavor is fresh and juicy watermelon without being overwhelming, maybe some cotton candy in there (but oddly enough not too sweet). Palate is light body, oily texture, flat carbonation and long finish. Pretty good, and interesting.

Draft at the source. Hazy golden color, medium white head. Aroma of fresh fruit and light straw. Taste is light and easy to drink, subtle fruit. Refreshing.

Draft. Strong artificial watermelon aroma (like a Jolly Rancher). Hazy golden yellow with small head. Sweet-tart watermelon candy and barley malt flavor. Lightly bitter citrus peel finish.

Tap at brewery. Watermelon Jolly Rancher/bubblegum aroma. Honey gold with a small white head. Slightly sweet and tart watermelon, citrus, and grassy hops flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation. Watermelon and hops flavors don’t mesh well.
