[9/21/11] Mahleket Hanikot Shotrim ’11 tour. Draught in some cafe in Weimar. Beautiful cloudy yellow-orange color with a huge white head. Aroma of lots of banana and light clove notes. Sweetish flavor with yeast, fruity esters (banana, apple, a bit of citrus) and light spiciness. Light-medium-bodied, maybe slightly watery. A decent Weizen.

Hefiger, wenig wässriger Beginn. Leichte Herbe, ebenso geringe Säure. Süffig, geringe Intensität. Zum Ende hefiger aber nicht interessanter. 11/8/8/7/7/7

Bottle, Weintanne, Jena. Murky yellow-golden body with a thick white head. Cloves and lemon in the nose. Empty, slightly soapy classic weizen taste, soft yet ends sourish and dry. Lemony, a bit papery but not unpleasant. Ok enough!

Aroma is floury with banana, wheat and some yeast. Flavour is rather refreshing with wheat and banana. Some herbs and hops in the finish. Nice.

Beer No. 99 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Bottled 500ml. -random gas station near Leipzig. Light cloudy golden coloured, small white head, lively carbonation, mild banana in the nose. Moderate yeasty, banana and hint of spices with mild wheaty finish. Pleasant weizen. Very cheap in comparison with other beers I’ve tried on German gas stations. Only, really only 1.50€.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Hazy orange colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is bananas, bready malts, wheat, some spices and mild herbal notes. Flavour is quite similar with a bunch of yeast in it as well.

It’s unclear, dark golden with a huge, creamy head and the aroma has notes of wheat, light yeast and banana. The flavour is sweet and mild with equal parts banana, yeast and wheat. It’s a bit on the mild side, it would be nice with a little more character.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts mild, modest yeasty, fruitly like banana. Finish still mild, a bit dry and floury, still fine fruity. Quite drinkable. Not bad!

Bottle 500ml.
Unclear hazy medium orange color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, banana, rubber notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091114]
