Draught at Apollo, Copenhagen at New Year weekend 2010. Black with a big head. Fruity aroma, a bit tar aroma.

Handbottle @ Papsø. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty sweetish caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and vanilla finish.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown color, brown/beige head. Cocoa and chocolate aroma, a bit sweetish. Chocolate flavor, hoppy, metallic notes, cocoa powder, roasted, almost smoky.

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear dark brown - white bubbles. Roasted, chocolate, vineous, high malty, vanilla, high chocolate, cocoa, bitterness, dryness. Very nice.

Dark mahogany with a small beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, hops and coffee. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, hops, caramel, dark chocolate, coffee and cocconuts. Finished dry and slightly bitter.

Handbottle 33 cl. Courtesy of AndreasJaeger. Pours a hazy orangey brown with an off-white head. Sweet roasted nose. Medium body, very hard roast malts with sweet vanilla accents. Distinct malt bitterness. Apparently no vanilla is added - just Dutch cocoa powder. 171210

Pours dark brown with a small, staying, frothy, beige head. Mild chocolate aroma, light earthy tartness, softly roasted. Medium carbination, fine light dry and creamy palate. The flavour surprises with its power. Lots of cocoa, light tartness, grainy dryness, dark chocolate. Fair sweetness in the back with a hint of oranges. Long, lingering dryness. Quite delicious.

Bottle at SBWF 2010 (Brill). It poured a very dark hazy brown liquid. Lots of chocolate, but also some dark malt and a hint of coffee. Not as well balanced as I would have wanted.

Growler at Stockholm Beer Festival. Cloudy dark brown, small head. Aroma of cocoa and milk chocolate. Really sweet with medium body. Loads of milk chocolate, notes of butter and cocoa. Too sweet for me.
