3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 yngwie (9175) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 29, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. A clear, golden beer with a finger-thick, dense off-white head. Ginger dominates the aroma without being intense. Malts and a little fruityness as well. The flavor is much the same, but lower on the fruits and higher on the ginger, without being as intense as Brøckhouse’s Sommer Saison. Thin, smooth mouthfeel. Nice, drinkable beer, but the ginger leaves it quite demanding. Especially in larger volumes I guess. (080912)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thewolf (8621) - Kolding, DENMARK - OCT 28, 2008
Tap @ Apollo, Cph.
Pours hazy, pale golden with a big, frothy, white head. Aroma has lots of ginger and lemongrass. Okay carbonation, fine lively mouthfeel. Flavour has a lot of ginger, but never really goes overboard on my tastebuds. It ends up with a slight peppery note, well-balanced by the citric bitterness. Would go incredibly well with thai food or sushi. Earlier Rating: 7/14/2006 Total Score: 2.9 Hazy amber colour with little firm head. Aromas are dominated by a heavy ginger feeling - even with a bit of cinnamon. The mouthfeel is a bit dry with plenty of sweetness and lots of ginger. Medium body. Can get a bit too much, perhaps.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ungstrup (23917) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 23, 2008
Draft. A slightly hazy light golden beer with a huge dense white head. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and citrus as well as light notes of butter. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw as well as lighter notes of butter and yeast, leading to a dry straw finish. Earlier Rating: 7/4/2004 Total Score: 2.7 A hazy orange beer with a beutiful head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by ginger and yeast. The flavor is very sweet - too sweet for my liking - the flavor contains strong notes of ginger and yeast. The ginger sticks on the tongue long after You swallow the beer. It is too sweet and doesn’t have enough character, is too simple. But it is a nice thirstquencher.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 harrisoni (10067) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2008
On tap at Apollo in Copenhagen. At 5.5%. Gold, thin white head. Definite ginger on aroma. I tend to like the ginger beers. This is ok, a pretty ok golden beer with some ginger infusion. Seems pretty integrated. Fine.
