Mild schinkenartiger Geruch. Nur leicht hopfig, deutlich herb. Die Rauchigkeit ist angenehm, ab dem Mittelteil aber nur nebensächlich. Recht herb werdend, etwas aber wenig malzig, kurz fruchtig im Abgang, gleichzeitg kurz intensiver und würziger. Zuletzt herb-bitter auf mildem Niveau. Die sonst dominierenden Rauch bzw. Hopfennoten bedrängen sich hier gegenseitig, daher wirkt das Bier nicht sehr harmonisch. Test vom 17.10.2009, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 13,10,10,11,-,10 - 10,47

A clear, dark brown beer with a dense, beige two-finger head leaving nice lacings. The aroma has a nice combination of smoke and toasty malt that I really like, but it lacks on the IPA-ish aromas. Sweet, lightly smoked and roasted flavor, with the smoke coming stronger. Medium body and in the finish the hops finally gets to do its job by providing a pleasant bitterness. A decent beer, but too smoked for an IPA, failing to let the IPA smell and taste like an IPA. (080912)

Clear medium to dark brown color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate hoppy, citrus notes, smoke - peat notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Bitterness is peat and hop bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (280808)

Darught at the brewpub. Dark amber color, offwhite head. Malty aroma, toffee, smoked notes. Hoppy smoked flavor, ashes, quite dry. Somewhat bitter finish.

Draught at brewpub. Reddish dark brown, foamy beige head. Lightly smoky and hoppy nose, dry grainy malts and cocoa. Dry, sourish, mildly smoky flavor, not that much hops. Almost medium bodied, smooth medium carbonation. Not that exciting, but balanced. What about calling this one just "Smoked"?

On tap at Apollo in Copenhagen. Very deep ruby colour with lasting beige head. Smoky roasted malt, over a very smooth beer, some sting on end comes mostly form carbonation. Yes, it’s got some smoked malt, but an IPA? No not really. Either needs more malt or more hops.

At the brewpub. Dark brown with a small, beige head. Slightly roatsed aroma and rather grainy. Leather and cocoa in the flavour. Pretty harsh and dry bitterness.

Draught at the brewpub in Copenhagen. 250ml – 5.8% ABV (according to the menu list). Black body with a rusty tint. Aroma of mildly smoked malts. Pretty much the same goes for the taste, but it also contains a dash of dark fruits. Foamy in the mouth and rather too gassy (11.09.2008).

Draught@Apollo, Copenhagen. Very deep amber colour, mediumsized creamy beige head. Aroma is fruits, mild roast and some hints of caramel. Flavour is much the same along, but the roast and caramel are being more evident. Nice brew, but not much IPA in it. A bit watery palate.

Tap at the brewrestaurant, Copenhagen - thanks yngwie and Beer_2000. Dark brown color, light brown head. Aroma is roasted and hints of smoked malt, also sweetness and hops. Flavor is smoked, but after that there is not much IPA in it. A bit thin body.
