Tap@Apollo. Not too much happening, but not so bad, probably just belkow average. Some light bready malt, with subtle caramelly sweetness. Finish a little bit grassy i suppose, with very, very subtle spices.

300ml on tap at Apollo. Beige head over an amber coloured body with great clarity. Spicy and fruity in aroma. Growing yuletide flavours of almond, anise and marzipan. Hints of yeast and alcohol shine through towards the end. Too sweet for more than one glass at the time (12.01.2007).

Draught at the brewpub; brewed with Tonka beans
Golden color. The Tonka beans leave no clear trace, but some bread aroma. Medium body, quite good malt, in the background there is some good hop (German style) and some special taste (between nuts and fruits) that I admit being the Tonka-stuff. Original, good and interesting.

Draught @ Apollo. Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense beige head. Spice, light fruits and light coffee in the nose. Flavour of sweet fruits, spices, light alcohol and the wellknown appollo yeast. Is quite dry and medium bodied. Ends on a fruity and spiiced note with some alcoholwarmth on the lips.

(On tap) Clear, amber golden with a creamy white head leaving laces. Odd soapy aroma. Medium body with strange notes of soap and marcipan - very almondish. A dry, hoppy finish. The almond is scaringly well hidden. Appears OK as a Christmas beer. 241106

Hildigöltur (5107) - København, DENMARK - NOV 24, 2006
Draught at the brewpub. Amber coloured. Strange aroma of marzipan and sweet fruits. Sweet fruity flavour of primarily marzipan with notes of fresh almonds, walnuts, caramel and soap. Strange and unbalanced. The 8%ABV is very well hidden, though. I just read that tonka beans have an aroma of almonds, which explains the main aroma and flavour notes in this beer. I also read that the bean is banned in food production in USA. Probably, because the main producer is Venezuela.
