Apollo Pilsner is brewed and served in the brewery just outside Tivoli - and nowhere else. From your seat it is possible to observe how they brew the beer.

On tap (0.15 l as a tester) at Flakhaven brewery, Odense... Clody light golden color, almost invisible. Average head... Mild natural hop aroma of flavors, grain and nature... Too mild, even watery, taste for a Pilsener... Boring ending...

Draught@Apollo, Copenhagen. I’ve always missed this one, and this time was very close as well, until it struck me like lightning, I need the pils! Golden colour, mediumsized creamy head, that leaves good lace. Aroma is bready, slightly yeasty with some nice grass and grains as well. Flavour is grassy, floral and some hay along with sweet malts. Balanced and quite Czech like. Felt very fresh.

Bamsen78 (4927) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAY 27, 2013
On tap @ Bryggeriet, Odense. Pours clear pale straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of hops with a yeasty note. Bitter, hoppy flavour, gradually giving way to yeasty and grainy sweetness. Dryish aftertaste with an acidic note. OK but nothing revolutionary.

after4ever (7490) - Brier, Washington, USA - FEB 1, 2013
Draft at Sct Clements, Aarhus. This beer was not really the highlight of my 6,000-mile journey to Denmark. Pours an oily, hazy amber. This is a pilsner? No head. Big sweet vegetal and buttery nose. Kinda like artichokes dipped in popcorn butter. Slick medium body, low carbonation. Tangy cardboard mid palate with artichokes and butter. Long buttery finish.

On draught at brewpub. Pours a dense gold color with fine white head. Early hop crispness, mellow maltiness, clean and light. Solid underlying mellow bitterness. Overall - OKAY.

Leighton (18075) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 28, 2012
On tap at the brewpub, Copenhagen. Pours clear, rich gold with a big, white foam head. Nose holds a bit of toasty cereal, nice biscuits, and dry, floral grass. Light to medium sweet flavor with good, toasty bread and biscuits, light dank floral notes, some light, dry grassy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Good mouthfeel. Lightly drying on the finish, with some dirty grass bitters, toasty cereal, toasty sugars and very light grains. A very respectable pils.
