Tap at Apollo, Copenhagen. Black color, brownish head. Roasted chocolate aroma, mailky notes, some dark chocolate, cocoa and mint notes. Roasted licorice flavor, smoky notes, cocoa and milk, dark chocolate and with a quite mild finish. A pleasant beer...

Tap @ the brewery. Pours pitch black with a medium, staying, creamy beige head. Aroma is thick of lightly roasted toffee and a touch of almonds. Flavour surprises completely by being relatively liqourice-based, thin and watery. Very cloying, light coffee. Completely off balance!

Dark red brown with a small off-white head. Roast malt, licorice, caramel and molasses in the aroma. Sweet licorice flavour, with some charcoal. Dry roast finish.

Draft. A dark brown beer with a red shine under a brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of diacethyl - I think something is wrong. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of diacethyl and fruit as well as lighter notes of roasted malt and vegetables, leading to a slightly dry adn roasted finish - after the diacethyl resides. Something is wrong with this beer.

(On tap) Black and opaque with a creamy, light brown, cappuchino style head leaving a broad and pretty curtain of laces. Lightly burned malt aroma. Medium body with a solid base of hard roasted malt and distinct notes of sweet licorice. Dry finish with some bitterness deriving from both malts and hops, A vague ashy touch in the finish also. 121007

Black coloured with a medium sized lacing beige head.
Very sweet and light roasted aroma of syrup, malts, caramel and dried fruits with notes of chocolate.
Light roasted flavour of malts with notes of liquorice and chocolate.
Light hoppy finish.
A bit watery.

RB DK #700. From tap at the brewpub pours deep brown to black with dense light brown and lasting head. Thick roasted malt, liqourice, dark toffee - dry and slight dusty. Mild liqourice flavour which gradually increases in intensity towards the finish. Rather smooth liqourice. Soft finish with a mild blend of some vague bitterness and liqourice smoothness. Nice although somewhat simplistic and with that classic Apollo diacetyl note (although minor).
