Draft sampled at the brewpub. Pours hazy brown with a cream colored head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, light cocoa and fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. A strange aftertaste that I can’t place spoils it. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

From the tap @ Apollo Bryggeriet. Pours clear dark chestnut, lightly carbonated with a white head. Slightly sweet caramel malt aroma. Malty with a touch of citrus. Light carbonation explodes gently on the tongue.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear amber/copper beer with a lasting beige head. Malty sweetish aroma, bready, fruity, sugary, grapes and pears. Malty fruity flavor, roasted notes, caramel, toffee, some alcohol. Thin bodied, fruity finish with butter and some vinous notes.

humlelala (685) - DENMARK - APR 21, 2013
(on tap @ Bryggeriet Apollo) Pours a clear, dark amber with medium, tan head and lively carbonation. Good retention and lace. Aroma is malt with notes of toffee and a hint of smoke. As the beer warms some less savoury notes emerge that seemingly resemble cabbage. Oily texture, medium body and a lingering, slightly bitter finish. Flavour is a bit off with some slightly acidic notes and the toffee profile is not distinct. I appreciate getting a chance to taste this relatively rare style but I’m not sure this one is representative of what the style has to offer.

after4ever (5279) - Brier, Washington, USA - FEB 1, 2013
Draft at Sct Clements, Aarhus. Pours a hazy medium amber with golden highlights and a loose white head. Malty caramel and butterscotch nose. Slick medium body. Soft carb. Caramel and butterscotch mid palate. Tangy finish. They need to rethink everything about how they manage yeast and ferment at this place.
