Draught @ Bryggeriet Apollo, Vesterbrogade 3, 1620 København, Denmark.
Clear medium to dark red brown color with a large, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, butter, smoke - peat - tar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and burnt + burnt caramel bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Not harmonic but it gets better the more you drink of it .. [20100108]

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a golden orange glare and a huge, tan and dense head. Aroma is roasted malty. Chocolate malty flavoured, light acidic note. Roasted malty finish. Crisp bitterness. Lasting rooasted malt impression, vague smoked note.

Draft. A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has strong notes of licorice as well as medium notes of brewmash and caramel. The flavor is sweet with an odd mixture of roasted malt, dark bread, licorice, and caramel, leading to a very dry finish.

On tap. Pours a clear warm reddish dark brown with a handsome dense, beige head leaving lovely curtains of lacework. Sweetish roasted malt in the nose with a whiff of butter. Medium body, dry roasted malts with a whiff of licorice. The finish is dry with some malt bitterness. 080110

Draught at the brewpub, Clear red brown coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet aroma of malts and caramel with notes of liquorice and burnt sugar. Sweet flavour of malts, caramel, hops and dried fruits. Dry hoppy finish.

Bottle (from Herning, enjoyed same evening as it was bought). Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is leather, some slight yeastyness, mildly smoked wet wood as well. Flavour is quite much the same, but the smoked notes are much stronger. A quite nicely balanced brew.

Tap @ Apollo, Copenhagen. Pours black with a small creamy beige head and lacings. Nose is roasted coffee with hints of smoke and butter. Roasted flavor with a whiff of smoke, butter and caramel. Medium and smooth body.

Pours deep, clear chestmut with a great, staying, frothy, light-brown head. Aroma has caramel, raisins, some red wine and nuts. High carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is roasted. subdued sweetness, ash, dark chocolate, raisins and liqourice. Long, dry and bitter aftertaste.

November 2010, Odense. Black with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of licorice, roasted malt and smoke. Sweet licorice flavour with smoke. Much cleaner this time, clearly superior
