Kaum getreidiger, dafür etwas säuerlicher Antrunk. Beide Aromen steigen an, erhöhte Karbonisierung. Mild herb, ab dem Mittelteil laff, geschmacklos. 8/9/6/6/8/6

Tasted during Nepenthia. Clear red, slightly brown color. Few bits in the body. Thin off-white head. Loose bits of lace. Aroma of rye grain, kind of spicy grain. Toasty. Touch of savory. Moderate sweet. Light to moderate bitter. Medium-plus body. Light carbonation. Light slick, then dry finish. OK roggenbier. Tastes a bit off. Hint of oxidization. Not fresh, I suspect.

A clear mahogany coloured brew with a small head of foam. Malty nose with some rye in there. More sweet than spicy. Semi sweet taste, again, the rye isn’t very spicy. A bit earthy. Easy drinking. Beer got cloudy with the last pour. Mouthfeel went from good to a bit watery in the finish. Decent brew overall.

bottle @ Grassroots Natural Market / Jacksonville FL --- Nearly opaque dark brown color, frothy, bubbly beige head, no lace. Taste and aroma are both outside normal parameters - there is a little malt, and a lot of rye. It grows into the palate, becoming a little bitter in the finish, then sliding through a long, rye-dominated, finish. It is different, but it doesn’t work well for me.

Aroma is rye/spices, medium sweetness and basement. The flavor is rye, malts, spices and a mildly sweet/slightly funky finish.

Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy brown hue with creamy tan head that settled. Aroma is rye, toffee, yeasty, mineral. Mouthfeel Is ok with a medium body and light carbonation. Taste is dry sweet with a spicy mineral finish. Overall this is an interesting brew.

Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a hint of garnet. World class head volume and retention, but almost no lacing. Light nose of molasses and burnt sugar over a slight note of spice with a hint of prune. Very light medium body with a bit of smooth texture. Above normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice burst in the finish. The flavor profile is reasonably intense (but picks up as it warms), somewhat balanced but lacks the complexity of the nose. It begins with mild rye, then flows into a mild spicy bitterness. In the middle a hint of sweetness comes through as the bitterness fades. The finish is a slow fade that ends with a slightly sour burnt nut off flavor. In short, a disappointment.

500ml bottle. Nose is sweet and malty, Munich-type with a little spice and fruit, phenols; pours deep red-brown with a rocky tan head. Taste is tart with very little bitterness, a touch grainy, sweet but not sugary, more cloy from the clove phenols. Light berry, dash of spice, body is full but also somehow watery. A confusing mix, drinkable but not terribly well done (or hasn’t survived the trip well).

Bottle. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of rye malt, yeast and fruit, with subtle touches of hops. Sour flavour (not past BBD!) with heavy metal notes and touches of malt. Lingering, sour and grainy aftertaste. Off? Needs re-rating.

Bottle, 5.3%. Weak banana and citrus aroma. Cloudy amber/brown colour. OK stable tan head. The flavour is metallic and very citric. Long metallic aftertaste. Seems off, but is not past BB date.
