2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 dwyerpg (3574) - Las Vegas, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Kind of smells like a pale lager. Looks like one too. This is an okay beer. A bit heavy , with a malt laden backend. A change of pace from all the regular light Colombian garbage.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 V1_Vr_V2 (6) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - MAR 10, 2012 does not count
Little to no hop flavor. Malty cereal flavor does come through. As with other beers from this brewery, carbonation is very high.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 culchiem (1014) - Berlin, GERMANY - FEB 9, 2012
Bottle from MBM. Medium gold with a thin head. Aroma is very light malt. Flavour is light dusty malt with a slight chemical mouthfeel. Finish is a little sour.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 ghawener (1240) - San Salvador, EL SALVADOR - AUG 30, 2010
Bottle: Very fizzy highly carbonated, thin white head. Taste is herbal, grassy, cardboard like (is the rice and/or corn in here?). Food Pairing: Empanada with Aji.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2009
A golden lager with a thin white head. A light herbal hops in aroma, weedy. In mouth, A good crisp malt with herbal hops, grainy, chalky, a south american lager veering on the German style, not bad, above average for the country. BB 28-12-09. Tasted Nov. 21 2009, with MartinT.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 22, 2009
My Bottom Line:
Important cereal sweetness is almost alleviated by fierce carbonation, while whispering herbal hops attempt to add spiciness to this Premium Lager posing as a Helles.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the misty golden.
-I cannot say the flavor profile is all that balanced.
-This is not really authentic even though all the advertised ingredients and brewing methods are of German origin.
-This remains sweeter and more flavorful than your typical mass-produced lager.
Bottle; merci Luc!
