Strong banana and clove flavors. A little sweet for the style. Carbonation was way too high.

Bottle from MBM. Hazy yellow with a large frothy head. Light wheat and banana aroma. Flavour is fizzy fruit with a tart background. Finish is dry

This actually smells like a decent version but looks more like a pale lager. This is pretty tasty, has some banana and some bubbly notes as well. Nice.

Bottle: Fizzy, lots of carbonation, champagne bubbly-like, did I mention fizzy? Food Pairing: Strawberries.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 probstblueribbon (1967) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 3, 2009
30 cc bottle from Lubiere (merci!), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. BB 21/12/09.
App.: Cloudy orange-golden with a decent loose white foam.
Aroma: Some nice banana/clove esters, biscuity malts, wheat and yeast, quite to style.
Palate: Medium body with really full effervescence and some sharp bubbles.
Flav.: Lighter than the nose, more yeast and wheat, less ester, a touch of hops; dry with minimal bitterness and a somewhat abrupt, mineral finish.
Not the best Weizen, but certainly a good try.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2009
A hazy golden weizen with a thick receeding white head. In aroma, fruity esters, bananas, strawberries, herbal notes. In mouth, effervescent weizen with light bananas, cloves, rather light bodied. Tasted Nov. 21 2009, with MartinT.

My Bottom Line:
Milky plantanes, herbal hops and parsimonious cloves dwell in an ailing body in this nearly decent example of the Weizen style.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A shy head of foam collapses into the cloudy beige yellow.
-The bottle conditioning is not really successful here; the mouthfeel is very prickly and the flavors are detached from one another.
-Wheat flavors are found within.
-This is again a tad too sweet to be as drinkable as this style should be.
Bottle; merci Luc!
