COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classic English style was once the largest selling beer in the UK. Now, we bring you a tasty keg conditioned version. We age this beer to perfection and hit it with a dose of high krausen. Then the beer ages at cellar temperature until it is ready to serve. The English malt and hops we use in this Extra Special Bitter develop a perfect blend sweetness and bitterness. Its smoothness is very enjoyable.

Pours with a nice head and a medium/light amber. Lightly fruity nose with light hops. Mellow maltines in the flavor with an ok bitterness and more fruitiness from the yeast. Pretty good but not great.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep caramel brown with a medium sized beige head. Coffee and roast, gentle caramel and a bit of hops. Lots of toast and roast. Coffee and toast. Big roast, malt. Long roast bitterness. Maybe not to style, but quite tasty. Sort of like a little tiny porter.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a very large sized head of foamy finely sized mostly diminishing off-white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was hazy and golden in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild malts and hops. Its mouth feel is initially slightly tingly and flat with a lingering finish that lacks crispmess and is too thick with heavy malts and a mild bitter aftertaste. Its flavor contained bitter malty notes. A below average brew.

kramer (3454) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 21, 2010
On tap, Hbg location. Pours a clear amber body with a small creamy beige head that fell to a thin film leaving tons of thick heavy lacing. A litttle grape soda fruitiness on the nose with minimal hops and a little toasted malt. That weird grape soda note is in the flavor as well up front. The leafy hops dominate the finish over a toasty malt base. Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation and a dry slightly husky finish. Overall, I was turned off by that weird grape smell and flavor quite a bit.

Draft at Appalachian BC. Large ivory fizzy head that was mostly lasting, fine-large sized bubbles, sparse lacing, minimal carbonation, transparent, and a golden hue. Aroma was malty and hoppy. Malty, bitter flavor. Tingly palate. Medium body.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber red with a thin white head. Aroma of lots of fruits, especially apple skins. Flavor of sweet malt, light spicy hops, and plenty of sweet fruits with a touch of floral notes. Ok, but it’s sweet. 7/4/6/3/13 (3.3/5)
