On tap @ ABC Gettysburg. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, molasses, and roasted grains. Sweet dark malt base with loads of hop and roasted bitterness. Full body with mild carbonation and a thick mouth feel. Very good, heading into the Imp Stout category because of the dark roasty qualities.

Growler, thanks to the crew at Dmacís for bringing this one. Pours out dark brown with a small fading head, sweet/alcoholic nose. Taste is complex, alcohol content is well hidden. Sweet fruits, some chocolate and earthy notes in there also with a decent amount of hops. Interesting

They did a decent job on this one. Itís a bit watery, but a nice caramel malt, toffee and fruit presence can be detected.

Tap @ Hop Devil Grill poured into a small goblet. Black bodied with a medium head, which turns into a strong lacing. Aroma is at first pine hoppy and the follows with other sweet hop aromas. Taste is citrus hoppy but not enough behind that. A bit of alcoholic raison there as well. Alcohol burn left at the end. This is one of these too strong and too mediocre barleywine.

Poured a dark, reddish brown color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, malts, vanilla, citrus fruits, and light alcohol. Taste of more citrus fruits, light roasted malts, dried fruits, caramel malts, and faint alcohol in the finish.

Gettysburg location on tap - Deep dark brownish-black, some red notes in the light, tan creamy head. Intense rich nose of buttery oak, dark fruit, light smoke and a hint of earth. Well bittered, yet balanced, with additional fruity, oakey, vinous notes. Full-bodied, syrupy, soft carbonation, buttered dark fruit with an oak dry finish. This version was 12.8% and aged in chardonnay oak barrels for 9 months. Worth a special trip to taste this one. Just awesome...
