Not one of the better Irish-style beers I’ve sampled. The Celtic Knot poured an amber color with almost no head at all. There was very little lacing and not a whole lot going on in the nose. The body and flavors are a bit bland, too. I tasted mostly semi-sweet malt and some bread flavors. The finish and aftertaste is a bit on the sour side.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep, hazy amber with little head. Aroma is of strong soapy/malty yeast. Big yeast comes through up front in the flavor. Very Irish, borderline funky, flavorful. Old malt taste, slight soap. Precedes nutty maltiness. Light and drinkable. Cool.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler poured into pilsner glass. More dark than red in color with a significant tannish head. Suprised by aroma of bittering hops. Taste is very balanced with a strong malt back and backend of the bittering hops. Nicely done for a seasonable, nothing over the top and very sessionable.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
Some caramel aroma with a definite flowery presence. Malt sweetness with light hop bitterness. Sweet toffee finish blooms late in the aftertaste and detracts. Moderate carbonation.

Growler from Gettysburg pours medium amber with red highlights. Creamy tanish head quickly forms a ring. Toffee, butter and malty breadiness in the aroma. Medium body with a slight grassy hop bitterness and big malty body. A glass of grain! Pine in there too. Quite sessionable. A bit of a surprise from them.
