3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 turtlehead (111) - Nottingham, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 24, 2002The yeast attenuation appeared great. Hints of citrus and banana esters dominate this beer. Although I am not particularaly fond of Hefes, I feel as those that are will want to try this one.

Pours hazy/cloudy yellow with thin, fluffy, dissipating head. Smells of mild to moderate caramelized banana, brown sugar, lemon, a subtle bit of evergreen and grain. Flavor is of clove, grain, slight banana, bit of lemon, mild piny bitterness. Texture is also grainy. Fails to really distinguish itself within the style. Not bad, but totally not interesting.

On tap @ ABC Harrisburg. Cloudy gold/yellow with the tiniest head. Typical German Hef aroma of banana, tiny bit of clove and wheat bread. Taste is the same with sweetness that is balanced by some hop bitterness and a light sourness. Medium body, a smooth mouth feel and a lightly tart finish. Pretty good.
