This India Pale Ale is an exciting beer with a floral in aroma and an incredible hop flavor. The maltiness is increased (over a regular pale ale) to help balance the aggressive hop usage. This contributes to the higher alcohol content as well.

Pours a cloudy beige color. Smell is dominated by hops, a touch of citrus. Taste is very hoppy, piney, no malt balance to speak of. Overall a bit to bitter and unbalanced for my liking.

A little stronger than their others beers which Iíve head. Some hops in the nose, a little in the finish, typical sweet body.

On tap clear amber thick white head. Aroma of pine and hops. Itís pretty mellow for an ipa. Good finish with hint of hoppy bitter

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is murky dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, ), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot), with notes of plastic, diacetyl, spoiling fruit juice. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Well, thatís 3 strikes for ABC...I didnít rate the Jolly Scot, but that, this, and the Mountain Lager have all been very dirty and poorly made drain pours. Oh well.

Iím not as crazy about this IPA as I am about the Outta Focus. Itís hoppier than I tend to like and itís kind of bitter on the aftertaste, but itís not awful.

DATE TASTED: November 15, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Barley Creek pint.. OCCASION: recovering from the family football game--I threw three INTs!--and a much less enjoyable Browns loss... APPEARANCE: rather light. bronze/copper body that shows reasonable effervescence; nearly clear; slight, fuzzy off-white head that holds to a swampy halo ... AROMA: resinous first impression; pear, wheat grass, some citrus, and melon; very little malts to speak of.... PALATE: fizzy, light and lively at the teeth; short at the finish, with a muted, astringent mouthfeel; medium-bodied and drinkable... TASTE: the resin is clear, mingling with citrus like grapefruit and orange peel...the maltiness presents itself more in the taste than in the nostril or palate; a reasonable sourness ensues... OVERALL: aptly named, ably fulfilling its hoppy promise, with a serviceable 6.2 ABV and a pleasant if not unmemorable profile...

Bottle. Honey color with off-white head and some lacing. Earthy, resiny citrus hop aroma. Caramel and pine and orange-citrus hops upfront. Earthy and piny, mouthcoating finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not the best, not the worst. Very standard and worth going to if you want a basic ipa. Tap

Pours out a copper color with a small white head. Aroma is of some caramel malts, light grassy and citrus hops not much going on. Taste is rather mundane, caramel, toast, light grass, rotted citrus fruits, . Meh.

Picked up a six pack for my own flight at the house. Significant improvement from pale ale but probably still less than average for me.
