On tap at Appalachian. Pours a lightly hazed orange brown with a medium sized white head. Very soft citrus, the most delicate of the three. Biscuits and gentle hops. Very subtle, sweet malt moving toward a long bitterness. Slow sweet grapefruit bitterness, sweetest of the three. Overall a very nice series.

Draft at ABC Collegeville 2Q 2011. Poured hazy deep coppery with 1-finger off-white head. Nose was caramel malt, with citric hops, tangeriney and fruity. Tasted rich, complex as with the others, and I appreciate the pretty high ABV level in these. This flavor was citric, grapefruity, with a smooth malty finish.

hazy gold with white head that fades. Medium body. Wow- it is amazing how the flavor of the cascade melds with the malt sweetness that shows through. Note that this is the lowest IBU of the three, making a GU:BU ration of about 1, which even some regular pale ales can boast of. The bitterness is extremely smooth and doesn’t really linger, nice light citrus, and a blend of smooth sweet floral maltiness. Yum, but not really the best example of IPA.
