mtoast (283), City of Rust, Pennsylvania, USA May 21, 2008 12oz bottle, bottled in February...guessing of 08.
I’m already drunk and have no business drinking this, but it smells good, lots of caramel malts (hiccup), deep amber color with white head (giggity) that fades to nothingness in a matter of seconds. Flavor has all the great markings of a good Scottish ale, just seems a bit watery. Not that that’s really a bad thing, could easily enjoy many of these in one setting.
bigrond (860), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 11, 2008 I liked this beer. Pours a deep reddish brown with a thin off white head. Almost no hops, but a nice smooth, sweet maltiness.
easy drinking, goes down smooth. Beer_Hawk (705), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Aug 1, 2008 Bottled Feb 08. Poured a reddish brown with a thin off-white head that disappeared in seconds. Overall a weak aroma but found some sweet malts and corn. A very subdue flavor also. Molasses was the only thing I could pick out. Light body, watery, and a slight sour ending. Pass. zebracakes (981), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber, thin off white head. Aroma is malty and faint. Flavor is malty with some hops and metal. Definitely a forgettable beer, if not too sweet. DandyWolfFloyd (231), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2008 Updated: Aug 14, 2008Big disappointment. It’s aroma said sweet and malt. It’s appearance was a dark brown color, with a thin head. It’s flavor was poorly balanced, with too much sweet and not enough malt body balance. I found it to be too sweet without reason. I did not enjoy, and actually handed my bartender the bottle to do a drain pour. carruthm (388), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 8, 2008 Had on draft near Gettysburg. short notes.
auburn colored with thin head. malty nose, taste a little spice, bit watery.
